NWU announces more volleyball recruits

LINCOLN – Nebraska Wesleyan University head volleyball coach Rayna Cain has announced the names two additional recruits from that plan to enroll at Nebraska Wesleyan University and participate in volleyball during the 2018-19 school year.

Taya Johnson from Battle Creek High School and Taylor Stout from Lee’s Summit High School in Missouri are the two newest additions to the Prairie Wolves recruiting class.

Johnson is a 5’7 outside hitter from Battle Creek, Nebraska.  As a senior she was named to the Class C All-Area team and selected to the area Elite 8 team for Class C.  A Mid-States All-Conference team selection, Johnson broke the school single match record for digs.  She finished her career ranked second in school history with 600 kills and was 7th all-time with 556 digs.

She also plans to participate in track & field at Nebraska Wesleyan.

Stout is a 5’10 outside hitter/middle hitter from Lee’s Summit, Missouri.  A four-year letterwinner, she was named 1st-Team All-Conference as a senior in 2017.  She was a two-time 1st-Team All-District selection.  As a senior, she helped lead her team to the conference championship for the first time in 14 years.

She finished her career ranked second in school history in career blocks with 198.

Coach Cain has now announced the names of 11 incoming recruits that are joining the Prairie Wolves volleyball program.
