The day’s most impressive mark was posted by freshman Isaac Grimes, who won the long jump at 25-1 ¼, just a half inch from an automatic qualifying mark for the NCAA Division II National Outdoor Meet. Grimes placed sixth in the long jump at the national indoor meet, just three weeks prior, with a personal best leap of 24-9.
Another of the Eagles, sophomore Javan Lanier, was second in the long jump at 22-11 ¾ and also won the 100 meters in 11.46 seconds.
