LINCOLN – Nebraska Wesleyan senior women’s basketball player Caitlin Navratil has been chosen as a preseason NCAA III All-American by D3hoops.com when they released their preseason All-American teams on Nov. 2. Navratil was one of five players selected as honorable mention All-Americans.
A total of 25 players were named D3hoops.com preseason All-Americans with four teams and five honorable mention selections.
Navratil, a 5-foot-3 forward from Littleton, Colo., was named First-Team All-West Region last season when she averaged 20.2 points per game to rank 14th in NCAA III in scoring. She set the NWU single season scoring record finishing with 525 points on the year.
She has earned First-Team All-Conference in each of the past two seasons and is a three-time All-Conference performer. In three seasons, Navratil has scored 1,373 points to rank third on the NWU all-time scoring charts.
Navratil is one of two American Rivers Conference players on the preseason list, joining Emma Gerdes of Wartburg who was a Second-Team selection.
Only two players in NWU women’s basketball history have ever earned All-American honors at the conclusion of a season.
The Nebraska Wesleyan women’s basketball team begins the 2019-20 season on Nov. 15 when they host Grinnell College.
