PERU – The Bobcats built up a 14-point lead over the Broncos, but didn’t rest on their laurels on the way to an 89-65 win on Friday.
Peru State moved to 2-1 on the year with the non-conference victory over an in-state rival. It was the season opener for Hastings.
Alyssa Marsh-Contreras led all scorers with 25 points for PSC. Dayna Dewitt put in 16 and McKenzie Witt had 11 for the Bobcats.
Kaitlyn Schmidt and Ali Smith each had 16 for the Broncos.
Peru State outscored Hastings in each quarter on its way to the victory.
