HASTINGS – The Hastings College Athletic Department has announced Jeff Proctor as the new Head Coach for Shotgun Sports. Proctor has spent nine years competing in various shotgun sports including three years as the team captain for the University of the Ozarks Clay Target team.
“We could not be happier about the hiring of Jeff to be the head coach for Shotgun Sports,” said Ron Hergott, Director of Lifetime Sports. “Jeff brings a wealth of experience which also includes a collegiate national title in Bunker Trap.”
During his collegiate career, Jeff earned the ACUI Men’s International Shootout Bunker Trap National Title and was also national runner-up in the ACUI Men’s International Wobble Trap.
“I believe his experience at the national level really speaks for itself on what Jeff brings to the position that will only help our Shotgun Sports teams improve their skills,” Hergott said.
Jeff also spent two years working with the Hector High School Trap Team and is also a certified NRA Level 1 shooting coach. He has shown a great work ethic when it comes to both the academic and technical side of what it takes to be a head coach at this level.
“I am very blessed to be joining the Hastings College family and the community of Hastings, Nebraska,” Proctor said. “I am excited to be able to share my passion for Shotgun Sports with the student athletes and build off the recent success the team has had under Coach Nollette.”
