CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Two players on the Nebraska Wesleyan University women’s soccer team were named to the 2019 American Rivers Conference Women’s Soccer All-Conference team that was announced on Tuesday by the league office.
Kaitlyn Sullivan was a First-Team All-Conference selection and Suzie McDonald was an honorable mention All-Conference selection. Sullivan ends her career as a 4-time All-Conference selection.
Sullivan (Longmont, Colo.) received First-Team All-Conference honors at forward for a second straight season. She earned honorable mention All-Conference in her first two seasons.
As a senior, Sullivan was second on the team with six goals scored finishing the year with 12 points. She had one game-winning goal. This is the second consecutive season that Sullivan ended the year with six goals. For her career, Sullivan scored 19 career goals, including eight game-winning goals. She added five career assists to finish with 43 points.
McDonald (Council Bluffs, Iowa) was honorable mention All-Conference as a midfielder. She played all 18 games scoring three goals with one assist. Two of her three goals were game-winning goals in 2019.
Brynn Jacobi of Loras College was the American Rivers women’s soccer offensive MVP and Taylor Trovato of Loras is the defensive MVP. Coach Jeremy Reinert of Simpson College was the A-R-C Coach of the Year.
Nebraska Wesleyan finished the 2019 season with a 12-6 overall record under coach Jen Dyson. It was the most wins by a Prairie Wolves women’s soccer team since 2006. They went 3-5 in conference play to place seventh in the American Rivers standings.
