On Wednesday, the NCAA released it list of nominees for the 2019 NCAA Woman of the Year. A record 585 names were present.
Since its establishment in 1991, the NCAA Woman of the Year award recognizes graduating female college athletes who have exhausted their eligibility and distinguished themselves in academics, athletics, service and leadership throughout their collegiate careers, according to NCAA.org. The nominees from all three levels of the NCAA.
Three student-athletes from Nebraska colleges were on the list:
• Mikaela Foecke, University of Nebraska, volleyball and beach volleyball
• Taryn Kloth, Creighton, volleyball and beach volleyball
• Angela Mercurio, University of Nebraska, indoor and outdoor track and field
