Trent Hinton, Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Communications and Compliance
YORK – This coming 2020-21 school year, the York College Athletic Department will look a little bit different. Jared Stark, Vice President of Athletics and Enrollment, announced that current Director of Athletics Matthew Madole has accepted a job as a youth minister in Ardmore, Okla.
“Matt has done a tremendous job for our department over the last two years,” Stark said. “He was a strong leader and instituted some great things within our programs. Matt will be missed, but we are happy for him and his family as they transition to full-time ministry and believe they will bless many people in the future, as they have done here.”
With the vacancy that persists, Stark has chosen to utilize current staff to fill the roles. Stark will take on some more day to day athletic duties that he had given up, while Justin Carver will continue his efforts as Assistant Director of Athletics. Carver focuses his time on Champions of Character initiatives, implementing core values within our sports programs as well as S.A.L.T. (Student-Athlete-Leadership-Team.)
Besides the current setup the department has established, Stark is promoting others to fill areas that are extremely valuable to York College.
“I believe we have a dedicated and capable staff to take on the things that Madole was doing,” Stark said. “I am promoting head baseball coach Brian Walth to Associate Director of Athletics. Brian Walth has been a consistent face and phenomenal leader in our department for over 15 years. He will continue to lead the baseball program, but will also take on several leadership roles within the department.”
“Trent Hinton will add some duties as well with his title change becoming Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Communications and Compliance. He has been a tremendous asset to our department and has tremendous knowledge of the ins and outs of our programs.” With additional roles added to Hinton’s resumé, he will be relying on Hannah Parker to handle more game day responsibilities along with scheduling and transportation.
Roni Miller, head softball coach, will also add Director of Athletic Alumni to her duties.
“Roni has done a tremendous job over the last few years with our Letterman’s Association,” Stark said. “I want to keep that area growing and Roni has great ideas. She will help our department grow by reconnecting with alumni and staying connected with the ones she has built relationships with.”
